New Initiative to Promote Inclusive Workplaces

Mayor’s Workforce Integration Network Launches New Initiative to Promote Inclusive Workplaces

The Mayor’s Workforce Integration Network (WIN) is ramping up efforts to dismantle systemic barriers in London’s labour market with the launch of an ambitious new initiative aimed at fostering inclusive workplaces across key sectors of the economy.

At the heart of this initiative is the launch of the Inclusive Employer Toolkits, a set of resources designed to support organisations of all sizes in their journey towards greater diversity and inclusion. The toolkits are tailored for a wide range of sectors, including the green economy.

In a move to expand on the success of the toolkits, the Greater London Authority (GLA) has partnered with diversity and inclusion experts In Diverse Company (IDC) to introduce an Implementation Support Programme. This programme is specifically tailored to organisations in the Green Economy sectors.

The programme, which is free for all participants, promises to equip businesses with practical strategies for embedding diversity and inclusion (EDI) into their operations—ultimately driving improved business performance. The programme will offer a combination of learning sessions, networking opportunities, and access to a virtual knowledge hub that will help organisations make the most of the WIN Toolkit.

Key Benefits of the Programme:

Grow through Inclusion: Learn how to enhance both the financial and non-financial aspects of your business by embracing diversity.

Modular Learning: Tailor your participation to meet your organisation’s specific needs.

Networking Opportunities: Connect with peers from various sectors to exchange ideas and experiences.

Expert Guidance: Gain valuable insights from industry experts and EDI professionals.

Virtual Knowledge Hub: Access resources to help you successfully implement the Inclusive Employer Toolkits.

How to Get Involved

Complete the Pre-Programme Survey to assess current levels of understanding and implementation of EDI practices within your organisation, to ensure the support programme is tailored to meet your specific needs.

Your action is crucial: The survey isn’t just about providing data—it’s about setting the stage for meaningful and lasting change within your organisation and across London’s wider business community.

Awareness-Building Sessions

For organisations unfamiliar with the toolkits, the GLA is hosting a series of Awareness-Building Sessions. Sessions are designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the WIN toolkits, their sections, and key principles, as well as share best practices for their implementation. Case studies and real-world examples will demonstrate how organisations across various sectors are successfully using the toolkits to drive change.

Each session will also feature group discussions, allowing participants to share experiences, ask questions, and brainstorm solutions together.

Session Dates (All virtual):

20 November, 11:00am – 12:30pm

28 November, 3:00pm – 4:30pm

Businesses can sign up for their preferred session by completing the survey.

A Transformative Journey Ahead
