Introducing Waltham Forest College

Waltham Forest College recently hosted a visit from Phil Bourne from Local London Skills Providers, highlighting the college’s innovative learning environments and forward-thinking educational vision. The visit featured key facilities, including the Immersive Room and newly developed green training spaces, both of which are central to the college’s commitment to preparing students for the future.

The Immersive Room stands out as a state-of-the-art facility that enables interactive and experiential learning. Students can engage with complex concepts through simulations and virtual scenarios, gaining practical experience that enhances their understanding. During the visit, staff demonstrated how the space encourages active learning through hands-on visualisations, making abstract ideas more accessible and engaging.

Phil also toured the college’s green training spaces, dedicated to teaching sustainable construction practices. These areas focus on energy-efficient building techniques, equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to meet the increasing demand for environmentally responsible solutions in the construction industry.

Phil was impressed by the college’s vocational education initiatives, noting its emphasis on ensuring students are ready for the modern workplace. During his visit, he met with Alan Kenny, Deputy Head for Quality, Nadeem Khalifa, Director of Commercial Partnerships, Paul Groom, Director of MIS and Planning; and Vito Martino, Director of Curriculum, all of whom are instrumental in driving the college’s educational vision.
