On behalf of the Mayor of London, we are pleased to invite you to the event “London’s Green Transition: Business at the Forefront of Inclusive Growth” organised with C40 Cities, taking place on Wednesday March 19th, 2025, at City Hall from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  

London’s Green Economy is worth £50 billion and growing faster than the broader economy in 2023. The event will bring together leaders in the built environment, clean energy, and green spaces sectors to discuss the vital role of businesses in fostering an inclusive, equitable, and green transition that benefits all Londoners.   

Tackling structural inequalities in London is a key priority for the Mayor. Our new London Growth Plan, which will be launched on 27th February, will set out opportunities to boost sustainable and inclusive economic growth across all of London’s communities.  It focuses on creating good jobs and fair pay, while also delivering on net zero goals and strengthening London’s climate resilience. Complementing the Growth Plan is our Inclusive Talent Strategy, which will build on the capital’s skilled workforce, tackle systemic issues across education and employment to unleash the potential of all Londoners and – in turn – London’s economy.  

Businesses are the engine of the green transition through job creation, retrofit, clean energy and placemaking which all have the potential to positively impact communities and create social value.  We need to ensure the transition to net zero is fair and positively impacts all Londoners, so it is critical we collaborate across industries and between the public, private and third sectors to promote social equity, workforce development and inclusion in the sectors.   

You are invited to this important event which will bring together businesses, industry organisations and trade bodies, further education providers, community organisations, and trade union representatives.  

We’ll focus on growing green jobs, promoting fair and inclusive working practices, and building social equity.  

The half day event will be held at City Hall, you’ll be able to enjoy insightful and inspirational talks, build your network amongst other leaders and share your experiences and ideas in short collaborative activities.    

  This event is for businesses, but especially targeted at C-suite business leaders, HR, Skills, and Social Value leads at organisations.
