Success at Reset Connect

The Mayor’s Green Skills Academy for Local London exhibited at Reset Connect, the flagship exhibition of London Climate Action Week, on 24th and 25th June 2025.

Teaming up with the West London Green Hub and London South Bank University Green Hub, we ensured that visitors could connect with the right green initiatives for their sub-region.

This was a fantastic opportunity to connect with employers and businesses in the green sector. It provided the chance to scope out prospective talks for students, work experience opportunities, and other ways in which we could inspire students to turn their heads towards green careers.

We also had the chance to speak to prospective students, particularly people already working in the construction industry who were looking to upskill and make their practice more sustainable.

One of the big attractions at our stand was the display of our interview with Mete Coban MBE, Deputy Mayor of London for Environment and Energy. This ran throughout the event, drawing in viewers looking to find out more about the importance of green skills to our planet and economy.

Sonya and Phoebe attended a talk by Natalie Sarabia-Johnston, who spoke about ‘Nurturing Today’s Youth, Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders: Delivering Social Value through Careers in Construction’. This was an inspiring look into how support in green skills and careers can empower the next generation of green construction workers.

We also attended networking drinks on the first evening, where we had a more relaxed opportunity to find out what other companies are doing in the sector, from seagrass restoration to climate tech, and marketing to heat pumps.

With armfuls of seed packets, recycled notebooks, and biodegradable pens handed out, we left with a garden of new connections (and much lighter boxes), and we look forward to seeing how these blossom in the future!
