GESTA meets to discuss a greener London

The Green Energy Skills Training Alliance (GESTA) met face-to-face on Wednesday 21st May at the London Academy of Sustainable Construction (LASC). The meeting was chaired by Sara Calvo, the founder of GESTA and Business Development Manager for SIMIAN.

GESTA is a collaborative alliance comprising of training providers, construction organisations, and industry bodies with a shared mission to accelerate the decarbonisation of homes and buildings in London Borough of Waltham Forest and the other eight surrounding Local London boroughs.

The group discussed the design and development of the new GESTA webpage, ThinkFound’s aims to acquire and convert Brooks Farm in Leyton into an educational space, opportunities for engagement within and beyond the alliance, and quality and accountability within the green construction industry. The Mayor’s Green Skills Academy for Local London spoke on their work supporting Londoners into green careers and training, and Vito Martino discussed the current priorities of the Green Skills Advisory Panel.
